Our Approach to Piano Lessons at Happy Minds School of Music

HMSM tailors piano lessons to each student's unique interests and needs. While building foundational skills like technique, reading notes, and finger positions, instructors help students learn songs from movies, anime, and classical artists they enjoy. HMSM hosts four recitals per year with different themes. Students showcase their talents with friends or siblings in duet recitals, celebrate holidays with holiday music, or perform songs from movies and anime. The recitals inspire and motivate students to practice more.

Our individualized lessons and gradual process make it simple to become adept at all 88 keys. We start with fundamental competencies, like tempo, beat, and the basic five-finger layout. As time passes by, they can move on to more intricate practices, like arpeggios, chords, and scales. Our lessons also make music theory effortless and engaging to learn - an essential factor in piano/keyboard study.

Instructors

At HMSM, we offer string lessons that are perfect for any level of musician, from beginner to advanced! We provide one-on-one instruction with professional musicians and experienced teachers for kids and adults alike. If you'd like to learn how to play with others, we have classes for that too! During your time with us, you'll learn how to take care of your instrument properly, maintain the correct posture when playing it, and various bowing techniques. Our teaching style is tailored to each student's needs .

The human voice is the most potent instrument of all! With lessons at Bach to Rock, you can unlock the power of your own voice and become a more confident singer. Our vocal instructors coach their students on the fundamentals of voice production & music theory, from vocal health & posture to song structure. As learners practice, they become better able to control and project their voices with clarity, power & control. Our step-by-step method works for adults or kids of any level! If you want to learn how to sing, we have an experienced instructor who can help you build your skills in classical, Broadway, popular or jazz styles. Tone, style & technique are all covered as you work on your music reading skills.

At the HMSM, we help woodwind players of all ages reach their musical goals. Our faculty approach each student with a personalized approach, guiding beginners in technique, sound production and note-reading, and more experienced players in style, interpretation, and historical perspective. We strongly encourage our students to participate in an ensemble program alongside their lessons; many of our students are involved in school bands and the private lessons make them play better in school and have confidence on stage!
